John O'Mahony BSc (Special Hons) ACA
An ex-KPMG Chartered Accountant, John qualified in 1985.
He left the profession to move into industry, then spent 12 years working in commercial and financial director roles, succeeding in improving the financial health of each company. His employers included Kellock (the factoring and invoice discounting arm of Bank of Scotland), John Menzies plc, a subsidiary of Omnicom Inc (a world top 100 advertising and marketing company) and Securitas.
He then rejoined the profession as a partner at Hurst Morrison Thomson, before setting up S4B to bring the benefit of his company doctor and turnaround consulting skills and accounting experience to small and medium-sized businesses.
Today he acts as part time FD, commercial director or chairman for several of our clients, giving practical and commercial advice at a board level. Also as part of S4B he has worked in the field of venture capital, helping investors protect and maximise their investments and orchestrate very successful exits.
Gavin Scoular ACCA
Gavin is an ACCA qualified accountant with a vast wealth of experience, built up over more than 15 years working across a range of sectors. He has worked within the manufacturing, commercial, financial and service industries for British and American companies, both large and small. He also spent some time working in the public sector.
Gavin has a strong interest in technology and helps us leverage the best possible technology to help our clients with their accounts. He excels in providing guidance and consulting services to senior managers and directors, helping them make sound business decisions based on clear analysis of their accounts.
Candy Kirkland ACIM
Candy brings to the team a broad range of experience, having worked as a management accountant and as an international marketing and events manager, which helped to hone her outstanding organisational skills.
She spent her formative years in banking in the UK and South Africa, then returned to the City of London in the 1980s to work in stockbroking. She has since worked in the accountancy field for over 20 years.
Candy has an exceptional talent for bringing calmness and structure to organisations. She develops strong, interactive relationships with our clients and their teams, enabling her to deliver understandable accounting solutions.
Donna Cunningham
Donna has worked in accounts for over 20 years. She brings to the team a wealth of experience, having worked as an accounts assistant, credit controller and bookkeeper.
Her excellent communication and organisational skills help her to instil understanding and build good relationships with her clients and their teams, creating harmonious working environments.
Abigail O'Neill BA (Hons)
Abi has been working in the accountancy field for over ten years. During this time she has accrued a wide variety of experience, having worked on accounts for sole traders and partnerships as well as medium sized companies. She is experienced in carrying out a range of accounting work, from management accounts to audits and both personal and business tax returns.
Abi is able to put clients at ease and help them understand and feel comfortable with accounting processes and requirements.
Harry Burlow BSc (Hons)
A recent Accounting and Finance graduate from the University of Southampton, Harry joined Solutions 4 Business in November 2010 as a graduate trainee, while studying for his ACA qualification.
Harry is a fast learner who is always looking to take on new challenges. He brings a strong sense of enthusiasm to the team, and a determination to do whatever is necessary to get the job done.
